On 20th April, in the cultural complex «Mystetskyi Arsenal» took place the ceremony of the first Ukrainian prize in the fashion area BEST FASHION AWARDS.
The founders of BEST FASHION AWARDS are the organizing committee of Ukrainian Fashion Week and «Family of Restaurants Kozyrnaya Karta». They have gathered Ukrainian designers and prominent members of our society to present the award. This action became a remarkable event in the country not only for the creative staging, but also for the public significance.
The main goal of the BEST FASHION AWARDS is to objectively determine and introduce the leaders of Ukrainian fashion to the national and international community, to note the achievements of designers in the development of fashion, the creation of the fashion industry and in promoting a positive image of Ukraine abroad.
The award is intended to increase the prestige of Ukrainian designers in the country and inspire designers in creative search and professional growth. The BEST FASHION AWARDS award ceremony, which will take place annually in April, will be a bright event in the country’s fashionable, cultural and secular life.
BEST FASHION AWARDS was given for the collections of two seasons. A special group of experts decided the fate of official awards. This year, the experts included fashion journalists, fashion critics, buyers and opinion leaders.
The founding companies of the BEST FASHION AWARDS have made the effort to create the undisputed authority of the Award, which is achieved by objectivity, transparency and accuracy of all components of its organization.
Recognized leaders of various areas of public life were invited to present the Prize.
Oleksandr Onyschenko’s international patronage organization TOP Ukraine has launched the “First Profession” charity project as part of the first BEST FASHION AWARDS.
Together we give orphans the opportunity to gain skills that will remain with them for a lifetime and help them find a decent job themselves in the future. Thus, we create modern sewing workshops in orphanages in Ukraine.
Everyone who cares can join the project. With your help, we plan to give the «First Profession» to many orphans who are waiting for our support.
The “First Profession” project will take place from April 14, 2010 to April 25, 2011.
The winners of the nominations were awarded with exclusive statuettes «Best Fashion Awards», the authors of which are famous Lviv artists Marta Sukhanya and Roman Dmytryk. Their works are presented in many private collections in Europe and Ukraine and their names are included in the list of «200 names in the decorative arts of Ukraine.»
